Beginning Tap Dance Classes & Dancing Lessons for Children, Kids, Tweens, Teens & Teenagers in NJ

Beginning tap dance classes focuses on developing students coordination, sense of time and basic tap dancing vocabulary. Classes are taught to a wide range of musical selection (jazz, Broadway, Brazilian, African, Indian etc…) broadening students’ musical horizons. Lots of rhythms and grooves – students in PTW’s beginning tap dance classes also learn and experience the fun and joy of tap dancing!

Our Tap Dance Faculty features some of the best tap dancers and tap teachers in all of NY and NJ. Teachers in our Tap Dance Faculty have performed tap dancing all over the world, studied and shared the stage with tap legends including Gregory Hines, Buster Brown, Jimmy Slide, Brenda Bufalino and Savion Glover.

Performers Theatre Workshop, located in Maplewood, New Jersey, is one of NJ and NY’s leading performing arts school. Students, ages three to adult can take a variety of classes in all performing arts areas, and proceed at their own pace. PTW’s expert and caring teachers offer indivdual attention to all students. At PTW, there is an enormous sense of community as well as a respect for the individual, which nurtures the young artist and prepares him or her for life on or off the stage.
